Your data stays in your WordPress
Pautio stores comments in your WordPress database. No external account. This is what is stored and the only thing that leaves your server.
What is stored?
The text of the comments, status, priority, anchor, data about the reviewer's environment (browser, screen size, language, console errors) and guest data (name and email for the magic link).
Before the final policy is published, the exact list of personal data, including IP addresses and cookies, will be reviewed in the code.
What leaves your server?
Only license validation (key and domain), and only if you have entered a key.
The Plus plan's webhooks, if you enable them, send events to the URL you configure, without guests' emails or browser data.
What about GDPR?
Because it lives on your server, you are the data controller and you decide how long to keep the data.
Pautio is not legal advice: it gives you the data in your own database and a JSON export. Uninstalling deletes tables and options.
The guest receives a technical cookie so the widget knows it may load. Its name, duration and the text for your cookie policy will be published here.
